Terms & Conditions - TENS Hire

1. The Labour TENS should only be used in accordance with the instructions provided and only by the customer whose name appears on the booking form and is not transferable between individuals.

2. The effectiveness of the TENS machine in your labour is not guaranteed.

3. The Labour TENS must NOT be used by anyone fitted with a cardiac pacemaker, who has a heart disease or suffers from epilepsy. Please read the full list of contraindications in manual provided If in doubt please consult a medical advisor prior to use.

4. The Labour TENS must not be used until the pregnancy has reached 37 weeks gestation.

5. Failure to return the TENS machine by the 'Due back date' or not in working order will result in the Customer being charged the full retail value less the hire charge. We will give you a reminder prior to return date via text/ email. Two emails will be issued and one letter prior to the fee being charged. Once this payment has been made the Elle TENS will become the property of the customer.

Dropping the machine at the post office to be scanned in will ensure your return is tracked and you'll not be held accountable for shipping issues. If you're missing some of the smaller items, we aim to be lenient and only charge for issues with the machine itself, but please try your best to keep track of all accessories.

6. The TENS machine should be returned in the postage bag provided. If the postage return bag is lost it will be your responsibility to wear the costs and replace the postage bag.

7. Non-use of the hired TENS machine is entirely at the discretion of the customer and no refund will apply once the machine has been dispatched.

8.In the event of requiring to cancel your booking prior to dispatch, we will refund you for your hire.

9. The customer should check the contents of the hire pack upon receipt and familiarise herself with the TENS machine and the instructions. The customer must advise Bump to Baby co of any problems whatsoever immediately. Bump to Baby co accepts no responsibility where the customer fails to do so and renders it impossible for Bump to Baby co to take any corrective action.

10. TENS machines are fully tested and cleaned prior to dispatch. However, the liability of the TENS unit shall not exceed the hire charge.

11. The time a machine takes for delivery is dependent on Australia Post and Bump to Baby co cannot guarantee a delivery date or time frame. Every effort is made to have your TENS arrive closest to the date of your choosing. Refunds aren't applied for machines which do not arrive before labour commences, it is advised to hire from 35 weeks (the date of dispatch), though the customer should take their individual situation into account when determining when they may need the TENS.

12. By hiring an Elle TENS unit from Bump to Baby Co you agree to release, indemnify and hold harmless Bump to Baby Co and all associated persons from all liability arising from or relating to the use of the TENS unit and associated equipment either hired from Bump to Baby Co.

Bump to Baby co reserves the right to alter Terms and Conditions of hire without prior notice.

By placing an order, the customer agrees to adhere to the following precautions for use:

  • Do not use TENS during the first 36 weeks of pregnancy
  • Do not use TENS on the abdomen at any time during pregnancy or labour.
  • Do not use TENS if you have a heart pacemaker.
  • Do not use TENS if you have, or have ever had, a heart rhythm problem.
  • Do not use TENS if you are suffering from acute feverish conditions.
  • Do not use TENS if you are suffering from infectious diseases or tumours.
  • Do not use TENS when driving, cycling or operating machinery.
  • Do not use TENS if you have, or have had, epilepsy.
  • You MUST obtain the full approval of your doctor or midwife prior to using the Elle TENS unit.
  • When using Elle TENS the pads should NOT be placed anywhere other than the lower back as pictured in instructions.
  • Do not immerse the Elle TENS unit in water and ensure to dry skin before applying pads.
